Not Redneck Enough

We were at a friend's house for a cookout the other night. I went out on the patio and said "friend" tells me, "We've decided you're not quite as redneck as the rest of us." (No, but my ears are red from y'all talking about me!)

Yeah, says I, I've spent too many years out of Texas, I guess.

"That's okay, we forgive you," says he.

I don't know whether to be insulted or relieved! (Actually, I know he was teasing, and I'm happy with myself as I am - partially red neck and all.) ;-)

More Washcloths

Rowdy had dental surgery on Monday. He was in the chair for 6 1/2 hours! Ouch! I got four projects done while I waited. Three knitted washcloths and a crocheted wrist warmer, which I will post later.
This one could double as a hotpad. I love the colors. Got the pattern here: http://www.allfreecrafts.com/knitting/dishcloth.shtml Actually, I got the link from www.craftster.org.
This one is the same pattern: knitted on the diagonal. It's for a friend's new baby girl.
This one is a kitchen design: a flour canister with a heart on it, a measuring cup in front, and a rolling pin behind. http://www.knitsbyrachel.com/page19.html
And you can see the three crosses on this red one, can't you? http://www.knittingknonsense.com/3crossescloth.html

An Unusual Wedding

Okay, the picture is nothing unusual, but the wedding reflected the fun personalities of Dylan and Lindsay. Dylan is Rowdy's (much younger) cousin. The bride walked down the aisle to... the wedding march? No. To "All You Need Is Love" by the Beatles!

Dylan nearly passed out as she came. He was so emotional he forgot to breathe. :-) The reception was also reflective of their free-spirits. A live band played a wide variety of music styles. The groom's cake was a Nintendo game. The bride's cake was white with black polka-dots. I'm sorry I didn't get pictures.

Wrist Warmers

This one's my first attempt. The yarn is oh, so soft!
This one's for Dalton. He wanted it roomy enough to put a thin glove under it. He plans to wear them hunting.

Everybody at church oohed and aahed over them. I actually have several orders and several to make as gifts.

I think the black and white variegated works well in this diagonal pattern, doesn't it?
What do you think of these baby feet? Aren't they cute?! My first attempt at the "bobbles" that are the toes.

Growing Up!

My children are growing up! Rowdy's cousin got married the other night, so I used the occasion to take pictures of my family in their dressy clothes. I'll blog about the wedding as soon as I get the pics off my camera. It was unique, to say the least!

Knitted Cloths

I've been browsing on craftster.org and I've found that cotton dishcloths are popular, both in knitting and crochet. These are knitted. Can you see the log cabin?
How about the swan in the black and white variegated? What?! You can't see it?! Neither can I. :-( Oh, well, it'll be my test cloth to see how well they perform when to put to work as actual dishcloths.

For Erinn's peace of mind, here are a couple of pictures of the Koepke animals that we're keeping right now. Aileas is standing in a stall. Thunder is dozing in the pasture. Tana hasn't ridden him because 1. she's been sick, 2. it's too hot, and 3. she can't catch him. :-)
